2014 Kayak Season

Spring is slowly arriving and the river is slowly warming up.  As of April 19th, the river is still a chilly 48 degrees.  Mountain Valley Guides follows the 120 degree rule when putting out trips on the river.  A combined air and water temperature of 120 degrees is required to avoid hypothermia if you were happen to tip over.  Typically,  early May has river temperatures in the low 60s and air tempratures in the mid 60s. So we need an increase of 10 degrees of water remperature and 10 degrees of air temperature.  We are hopeful this will all happen by our opening day of May  10th.
